The Lakes
The Lake district in the NW of England and on the Scottish borders and edging up to the Irish sea almost needs no introduction.
As usual there is a variety of road based and adventure waypoints although the availabilty of byways for the adventure waypoints is more limited in this region. However those that do exist are exciting and event the roads in the lakes can be quite adventurous. Choos your waypoints carefully.
In total the road only route to reach all the waypoints would cover 589km and take 11hr 26min while including the Adventure Waypoints would take this to 719km and 13hrs 29min. Neither of which you have availble in the time allowed!!
Famous for its lakes and meres that have hosted everything from record setting attempts and tragedies for water speed records to Swallows and Amazons.
Perhaps the most famous and almost most visited of the English nation parks there is still room for some great biking. Especially as most visitors head for Windermere or Hill Top for a spot of Beautrix Potter.
This event has waypoints at nearly all of the significant stretches of water and the notorious but exciting passes such as Hardknot and Wrynose. They really should not be missed, so plan your routes carefully.
